What we cover

Cheap fencing fails fast — it leans, rots, and looks shabby within a few years. We use properly treated timber, set posts in concrete, and detail edges and tops in a way that actually keeps water out. The result is fencing that still looks good in 10 years' time.

  • Horizontal slatted timber fencing (a Terbium speciality)
  • Traditional closeboard and lap panel fencing
  • Composite fencing (low-maintenance options)
  • Metal estate and security fencing
  • Garden gates (matching or contrasting)
  • Driveway gates (manual and automated)
  • Fence repairs and replacement panels
  • Concrete posts and gravel boards for longevity
Fencing & Gates Installation in Devon & Exeter

A thought

Good fencing quietly says how much you care for your home.

It defines your space, gives you privacy, and signals that this is a property that's been thought about. We build the kind that still looks right in 15 years — because cheap fencing fails fast, and replacing it twice costs more than doing it once properly.

How it works

How a fencing project works

1

Site visit

We measure the run, check ground conditions, talk through design options, and discuss any boundary considerations with neighbours if relevant.

2

Design & quote

You receive a written quote with a clear breakdown — posts, panels, gravel boards, post caps and labour. We can show you previous examples of slatted fencing we've installed locally.

3

Removal & prep

We remove the old fencing, dispose of it responsibly, and check the line and levels of the new boundary.

4

Installation

Concrete posts (or treated timber, your choice), gravel boards to stop ground rot, panels properly fitted, and a tidy clean-up. We don't leave bags of cement and offcuts behind.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why horizontal slatted fencing?
It looks more contemporary than traditional panels, gives privacy without feeling oppressive, and lets light through. Done in pressure-treated timber, it ages beautifully to a silver-grey.
How long does fencing last?
Properly installed pressure-treated softwood fencing with concrete posts and gravel boards lasts 15-20+ years. Cheap rusty-nailed lap panels on timber posts often need replacing in 5-7.
Whose responsibility is the fence?
Boundary responsibility varies by deed — we can't determine it for you, but it's usually clear from your title plan. If neighbours share the cost, we can quote split jobs.
Do you do gates?
Yes — pedestrian gates, double gates, driveway gates. We can also work with automation companies if you want automated driveway gates installed.
Can I see examples?
Yes — visit our work page for photos of recent installations including the full slatted-fence garden transformation we completed in Devon.
